The Fine Arts Nights are something that a lot of artistic students of all kinds look forward to every year, as the events allow them to show off their artistic talents to the world for all to see, including their friends and family. It doesn’t matter what they’re skilled in, as long as it’s related to the fine arts, all is welcome at the Fine Arts Night.

While there isn’t a specific date as to when schools began doing Fine Arts Nights, art classes in public schools did start to gain prevalence during the late 19th century, specifically in the year 1821. As more time passed, these showcases would eventually become more formalized, and soon became the Fine Arts Nights that we know and love today.

The Fine Arts Night is primarily used by schools to help students who are interested in things like theater, music, or art, show off their skills to whoever decides to visit. Whether that be an art piece, a composition, or a play that they and their friends worked on. Sharing is everything during a Fine Arts Night, so schools will do everything they can to make sure it goes smoothly for the students participating.
“It is an opportunity for us to see a bunch of talents in one place, though we know the students personally, it’s nice to see the other side of their achievements and learn about the ideas behind their work.” said 12th grade SPED teacher Mrs. SB.
According to silliconvalleyinternational.org, Fine Arts Nights allow the students to band together to put on their best performance for all who come to visit, providing plenty of options to both socialize and entertain those who choose to come to the celebration. Sometimes students may set up booths alongside the main performances, offering further guest participation to anyone who is interested.
#3: The Mark of the Fine Arts Night.
Fine Arts Nights have left significant marks across many different schools, as they allow the students to share the schools culture, community standing, and more through the creations of their very own students and staff. These celebrations also contribute to students’ work in school by encouraging critical thinking, writing achievement, and more.
“I think it gives the community the chance to see the talent and creativity of the students that we otherwise wouldn’t get a chance to experience.” said SPED coordinator Mrs. Mitrowski.
According to arts.gov, arts education is closely linked to positive academic outcomes and social and emotional development, making Fine Arts Nights the perfect resource to improve a students social life along with their artistic skills. The amount of accessibility that students have to art education nowadays makes these events more free range too, given how much is readily available to students of the fine arts.
