Less than a month into the new school year, Meridian’s theater program is already hard at work preparing for its first production. This year, they’re bringing the high school edition of Clue to the stage, and with rehearsals in full swing, here’s a sneak peek at what to expect.
According to DP Theatre teacher Amy Crowl, “This is Clue High School Edition. It’s based on the board game, but more commonly, it’s based on the 1985 movie. It’s slightly pared down, but it’s still edgy and fun.”
Meridian’s version of Clue promises to offer something new, even for fans of the classic board game or the film, creating a fresh experience for everyone. Judging by the excitement from the cast, this is shaping up to be a must-see production.
“I’ve seen this play live before, and it’s a really fun show,” shared senior Aiden Jenkins. “As of auditions, I’m very excited. I think this is such an interesting show—everyone loves a murder mystery, and this one takes a really comedic approach. While other shows might explore darker themes, this one is very lighthearted.”
One anonymous cast member added, “It’s my first play at this school, and I’m really excited. I love the role I got, even though it’s a small part—it’s the only dancing role. I’m a dancer, so I’m excited for what we’re going to do.”
Whether you’re a fan of murder mysteries, looking for a comedic twist on a classic, or have only played Clue a few times, there’s plenty to enjoy in this upcoming production. With opening night set for early November, this show is sure to be one for the books!
