As Halloween approaches, we can all look forward to Meridian’s 5th annual spooktacular community event, Trunk-or-Treat, hosted by Volunteers in Partnership (ViP) on Friday, October 24th, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the High School parking lot.
In case you’re new here, Trunk-or-Treat is an exciting school-wide event where parents, staff, and other community volunteers team together to create the best decorated trunks. The trunks can range from a variety of designs. Last year, we saw themes such as Hocus Pocus, The Super Mario Bros, and Encanto.
Families may also attend the event in style, showcasing their costumes as they explore the trunks.
The entry fee this year is $7 per family, with a new treat–tickets can be purchased early on My School Bucks–allowing each family the opportunity to skip the long line terrors.
At the event, families can expect to visit and interact with various decorated trunks, which may either give out candy/toys or offer a small game/activity.
Unfortunately, this year, the ViP will not be offering a movie showing; however, there will still be $1 popcorn and $2 pizza slices available for purchase. Additionally, Kona Ice will be in attendance, with a percentage of its proceeds going back to Meridian ViP.
Primary student, Rylee Howard, claims, “I’m so excited for Trunk-or-Treating, it’s always a lot of fun getting candy and seeing my friends with our costumes on.”
So don’t forget to mark your calendars for this Friday! Trunk-or-Treat will be a thrilling time for each family. Also, who doesn’t want free prizes and candy?
