The energy is rising, and the spirit is undeniable— Meridian is gearing up for our second annual Homecoming Parade, set to take place on Thursday, September 25th, 2025, at 6:30 pm right here on Meridian soil. After a successful and heartwarming debut last year, this beloved tradition is making its return, promising even more color, creativity, and community pride.
Organized by a collaborative team of students, staff, administration, and the Dean of School Culture, Monique Swain. The parade is more than just a celebration; it’s a symbol of unity and school spirit.
“When we get together for our annual parade, it creates a sense of family and community.” Ella McNutt, a sophomore at Meridian, expressed, “Seeing all the floats and hard work people put into this parade is something I look forward to, and it’s an amazing way to include everyone in homecoming.”
This year’s event will feature student-designed floats, as well as appearances from not only student organizations, such as the Student Council, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), Thespian Troupe, Band and Choir, but also from athletic teams, including Flag Football and Meridian Volleyball. The entire school community—including families, alumni, and local sponsors is invited to attend and cheer on the procession.
“Homecoming is more than just a tradition; it’s a celebration of our shared spirit and journey as a community,” noted Swain. “Seeing students, staff, and the community come together like this is another reminder of why Meridian is a very special place and is such a rewarding feeling that we really are all in this together.”
For many students, the homecoming parade is one of the highlights of the school year. From months of planning to the final march down the route, the event offers a chance to showcase what our school has to offer—and for students to take pride in their identities and achievements.
“It’s amazing to see all the hard work come to life,” mentioned Triya Potluri, a sophomore and student council representative at Meridian. “We put so much heart and energy into this, and it feels amazing to represent our school in such an honorable and big way.”
For students who won’t be marching but plan to attend, the excitement is just as real. Many are looking forward to cheering on their classmates, celebrating school pride, and taking part in the energy of the night, becoming more than just a parade but a moment to feel unified as a community. “This parade binds people, and it helps us come together as one big family,” expressed Cyrus Kapadia, a sophomore at Meridian and eager spectator. “I think it brings a sense of home to them as we all have a common interest in our school pride, so we naturally have that connection with one another.”.
As the school continues to build lasting traditions, the second annual Homecoming Parade marks a meaningful step towards deepening school pride and fostering a culture of celebration, inclusion, and joy.
Don’t miss the unforgettable evening—We’ll see you on September 25th, at 6:30 pm!
